The only thing that doesn’t change is the fact that everything is constantly changing!
Most of the time we can go with the flow – seasons change, we move, jobs change, friends come and go and loved ones pass on.
But major changes require us to take time to allow for us to process – such as losing a job, divorce, death of a loved one, retirement or facing the “empty nest”. We too often don’t allow ourselves the time or resources to adjust to the transitions. We move on, stay the course, do what we “need to do” without allowing time for our own internal processes to occur and this can become painful.
I love working with women in life transitions to help them make the changes in themselves that allow them adjust and grow into the changes. Often a major transition can become a very exciting and rewarding time. And a major change can entail sadness and grief that therapy and counseling can help.
